How would you like to drive a car when you can’t see?

Well, I’ll be doing it on Sunday 24th January 1999 at about 9.00am Malaysian time (+8 GMT)!

The route starts from Dataran Merdeka in Jalan Raja, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and ends at the Suria KLCC shopping complex off Jalan P.Ramlee, a distance of about 5km. Check out the map below.

BLINDFOLD DRIVE ROUTE

SUNDAY, 24th JANUARY 1999 9.00am

I’ll be wearing a blindfold that will totally shut off my sight. To ensure that I really cannot see, a thick black hood is placed over my entire head. Now that’s really some blindfold!

I’ll be passing the famous Sultan Abdul Samad Building on my right, then go past the Bandaraya Light Rail Transit (LRT) Station on my left, breeze through Sogo Department Store and Pertama complex on my right, take a right turn near the Sultan Ismail LRT station, go past Sheraton Imperial Hotel on my right, then Renaissance Hotel on my left, then go past Concorde Hotel on my left, then take a left turn into Jalan Pinang and then a right turn after that, and a left turn after that straight into Suria KLCC. As you can see, it is not an easy route, with a lot of twists and turns along the way.

But I’m up to it. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for the past 3 years, and now at last it’s happening!
